Good Food + Nourished Neighbors

The Sanctuary Pantry operates a community food pantry serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in North County San Diego. We have faithfully server North County for the last 9 years and in partnership with Feeding San Diego and local grocery providers, we distribute fresh produce, meat, dairy and shelf-stable foods along with toiletries and diapers. Our program removes barriers to access by welcoming anyone who needs food and providing it in a dignified, community-centered environment. Each week our pantry serves hundreds of households, providing consistent access to nutritious food for neighbors across Oceanside and surrounding communities.

Why We Do What We Do

At Sanctuary Pantry, we believe access to good food helps build a thriving community. We know stretching a budget in North County is a growing challenge. Some neighbors earn just above the income limit for food assistance but still struggle to pay their bills. Others receive assistance, yet rising rent, food, and utility costs still force difficult choices about what goes into their grocery carts. We help bridge that gap with nourishing food, along with essentials like back-to-school shoes, diapers, toiletries, and menstrual products.

Our commitment reaches beyond groceries. We engage city leaders and examine state food recovery policies, advocating for practical support so community pantries can keep their doors open and good food moving.

We do this because children deserve to grow up well fed, seniors deserve healthy food close to home, and our unhoused neighbors deserve a good lunch and personal care items. Everyone deserves the warmth of friendship. When our neighbors are nourished and cared for, our city thrives.
